I rescued Galaxy from the slaughter pipeline.

It was love at first sight but my heart shattered when I saw a photo of him broken spirited & wasting away in a kill pen. I burst into tears & was compelled to save him! I didn’t know how I was going to do it as I was broke as a joke & lived in an apartment at the time, but I just couldn’t leave him to die, I spread his photo far & wide, I begged people to save him, but no one wanted a crooked legged ugly colt who was missing an eye. I was desperate to save him as if my own life depended on it. So I asked the horse rescue community for help & I was able to scrape the funds together to buy him from the kill pen owner for the price of his weight in meat, which was $240.00. Then, like fate, everything just fell into place. Family helped transport him, random people pulled together for his necessities, a nice lady offered to quarantine him for free & a nice man reached out & offered to board him for us, first 2 months free & at a low rate after that. 8 months later we closed on our little farm & rest is history.

This horse is priceless, Galaxy is way more valuable than money. He is my heart & soul, our bond cannot be broken.

Fate brought Keen to my door & I am so blessed to have him.

We adopted Keen from a wonderful older woman who could no longer care for him, she wanted him to find a forever home & I always dreamed of having a Lusitano.  So she made my dream come true & I gave him a forever loving home, total win win situation for all of us!

Keen is here to stay, forever, he will never be for sale.

Phoenix & I kept crossing paths until our paths became one.

I loved him from the fist time I saw him on a feedlot bound for the slaughter truck. It broke my heart, but I could not save him.. A year later I saw him listed for sale! I was so happy to know someone had rescued him, but again, the timing wasn’t right for me & he disappeared yet again. Almost a year went by & he popped up for sale yet again! This time, I just couldn’t help myself, I felt like this was a sign & I better go get him, so that’s what I did! Home at last duddy, home at last.

Needless to say, he’s not going anywhere. He belongs here.

Preserving a rare breed.

I have some pretty big dreams, one is to trail ride all over the PNW. I needed a horse who could handle the rough terrain, because lets face it, my seniors Keen & Phoenix have past their prime & Galaxy is not very sure footed. So I figured what better horse then a Mustang, but not just any Mustang, a Kiger Mustang! A rare Spanish breed I’d like to help preserve.. This boy is special & maybe one day you’ll see him out there representing & helping to preserve his wonderful breed.
